CHRISTIANSON’S COMPANION CREMATIONS

Following a layoff at MMNA auto factory, Bonnie Christianson took full advantage
of all educational opportunities the company offered. In January of 2005, she
attended a small business class. Following Bonnie’s entrepreneurial spirit and
husband Richard’s concept for a unique type of business, the two considered
the possibility of establishing a companion animal cremation service. After a
great deal of research (determining if a horse is lawfully considered a
companion animal, for instance) and work (installation of the necessary
equipment at the business location in rural Waynesville and more), the dream
became a reality and Christianson’s Companion Cremations was established.
As Bonnie commented, “Here we are three years later. The need for this service is astounding and we’re glad we’re here for all pet owners who need us when the time comes.” Christianson’s Companion Cremations offers pick up and delivery services. They also offer three packages including simple disposal of pets (no remains returned), group or semi-private (their most popular package which includes pick-up, cremation, an oak urn box with brass nameplate, certificate, memorial poem and delivery) and private (which includes all of the aforementioned but with a private cremation and remains returned in an Amish oak urn box).
Christianson’s Companion Cremations is certified and EPA permitted. No companion animal is too large or too small. According to Bonnie, “During the past three years of the business’s operation, we have provided cremation services for three parrots, a horse, a pet llama, a potbelly pig, a Guinea pig and too many dogs and cats to count, all of whom left many broken hearts and homes. We’re glad to be here for those who need us.”
